Purpose of the Role
The Qualified Dental Nurse / SME ensures seamless patient care and clinical excellence, playing a key role in advanced implant workflows. This hybrid role combines nursing responsibilities with the opportunity to specialize in full arch implant treatments, supporting surgeries, restorative workflows, and patient follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
Provide chairside assistance across general and specialized dental procedures.
Maintain strict cross-infection control protocols and clinical hygiene standards.
Collaborate with multiple dentists, adapting to different workflows and needs.
Support setup and organization of surgeries, dental materials, and digital systems.
Shadow and train under senior implant surgeons in full arch workflows.
Take intraoral scans, assist in prosthetic stages (bridge fitting/removal, restorative scans).
Contribute to mentoring and onboarding of new nurses through Truly's Nursing Academy.
Flexibility to support clinical schedules, including late evenings or occasional weekends.
Requirements: Competencies & Skills
Education
Qualified Dental Nurse certification required.
Overseas-qualified dentists (not yet registered in the UK/Ireland) are welcome for SME track.
Experience
Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical dental environment.
Experience in busy, multi-specialty, or implant-focused practices preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
Familiarity with dental materials, surgery setup, and infection control.
Knowledge of dental software (Exact; transition to Dentally).
Strong organizational and adaptability skills.
Ability to manage flexible shifts and occasional Saturdays.
Competencies

Relevant Details Before Applying
This role requires flexibility to support surgeries that may extend beyond standard hours (occasional late evenings and Saturdays).
Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not currently available.
For SME track applicants: this role is designed for overseas-qualified dentists who cannot yet practice as associates in the UK/Ireland. It combines a fixed salary with structured mentorship in full arch implantology.
Work is based primarily at the Manchester clinic, with potential exposure to other Truly clinics for training or collaboration.
