Job Description

A part time dental nurse/receptionist is required to join our wonderful team for a practice located in Maidstone Kent. Extra hours for holiday cover will be available. Hours will be from 07.45 - 17.30 for 2 days a week on a Wednesday and Friday. Must be flexible. Working with the Dentist, Hygienist and Reception duties will be required. PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU HAVE DENTAL NURSING EXPERIENCE.

The role is wide and varied and candidate will need to be flexible in order to deal with changing priorities and have a 'can do' attitude. Excellent communication skills, face to face and over the telephone, good data inputting, prioritisation skills, attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to use your own initiative and work in a busy and fast paced environment, the ability to work with limited supervision, but to have confidence to seek advice when appropriate.
Dental nurse qualification desirable with at least one year chairside experience. A great chairside manner and clinical ability are essential as is the ability to interact with patients in a friendly and professional manner.
Job duties:
Keep the clinical and all areas areas and all equipment and instruments clean, tidy and sterile as appropriate according to the practice's health and safety and infection control procedures.
Use all equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and ensure that they are maintained in good working order.
Provide chairside assistance, ensuring that the correct equipment is available.
Ensure the care and welfare of patients.
Accurately complete patient clinical records as directed.
Handle all substances in accordance with health and safety policies.
Be familiar with and comply with all health and safety rules and guidance, including PPE, COSHH, mercury handling, infection control and waste handling etc.
Ensure adequate stocks of materials and other items within the surgery.
Ensure computer/written records are accurately maintained and securely stored.

Knowledge of R4 advantageous

House keeping duties Stock control
Attend refresher and update training for medical emergencies and CPR. Act in accordance with the practice rules and code of conduct.
