We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
Assist dentists during examinations and treatments by preparing instruments and materials
Ensure all dental equipment is sterilised and maintained in accordance with health and safety regulations
Provide excellent patient care by reassuring patients, explaining procedures, and addressing concerns
Support the dental team in achieving practice goals while adhering to strict infection control protocols
Assist with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance treatment efficiency
Reception & Administrative Duties
Provide reception cover during breaks, holidays, and busy periods
Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk professionally
Handle telephone enquiries and appointment bookings efficiently
Process patient payments and manage billing procedures
Maintain accurate patient records using practice management software
Manage appointment schedules to optimise patient flow and minimise waiting times
Handle patient correspondence and follow-up communications
Support inventory management and ordering of dental supplies
Patient Care & Communication
Deliver exceptional customer service at all touchpoints
Explain treatment procedures and aftercare instructions clearly
Address patient concerns with empathy and professionalism
Ensure patient comfort throughout their visit
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with GDPR and professional standards
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
Strong organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Proficient IT skills for managing patient records, scheduling systems, and digital radiography
Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
Understanding of infection control and health & safety regulations
Personal Skills
Excellent patient care skills with demonstrated empathy and understanding
Outstanding communication abilities, both verbal and written
Professional telephone manner and customer service skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and cover different roles as needed

Experience & Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing (or equivalent) preferred
Current GDC registration as a Dental Nurse (or willingness to obtain)
Previous experience in a dental practice advantageous
Reception or customer service experience beneficial but not essential
Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Language Requirements
Excellent English proficiency, both spoken and written
Ability to communicate clearly with patients from diverse backgrounds
