We have an exciting opportunity for a Dental Surgeon to embark on a unique adventure and work in the Falkland Islands for a minimum three-month contract. The position is for a Dental Officer, starting as soon as possible and extending potentially beyond the initial period. This full-time role requires 37.5 hours per week, offering a rewarding pay rate of 60 per hour, paid through Falklands Island payroll with all deductions made at source.

What you will do:
  • Provide high-quality dental care and treatment to patients, ensuring standards of excellence in oral health.
  • Perform routine check-ups, diagnostics, and a wide range of dental procedures including fillings, extractions, and preventative care treatments.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals to develop care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Engage with the local community, participating in outreach and educational activities to promote dental health awareness.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery
  • Registration with the UK General Dental Council or recognised international equivalent
  • At least 2 years as a General Dental Practitioner or equivalent
  • Experience of fixed appliance orthodontics
  • Experience of supervising other dental staff
  • Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and patients
  • Able to fulfil the requirements to keep accurate and legible patient notes both on paper and computer
  • Has an understanding and applies the principles of clinical governance
