Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated, skilled and qualified Dental Therapist (or Hygienist) to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and providing exceptional patient care in our 5 surgery practice.

Therapist Responsibilities

Intra and extra oral assessment Thorough scaling and polishing Periodontal treatment to maintain patients' oral health Applying materials to teeth such as fluoride and fissure sealants Operate medical imaging equipment to capture high-quality radiographs for diagnostic purposes Taking impressions Providing dental health education on oral hygiene practices on a one-to-one basis or in a group situation Undertaking routine restorations in both primary (baby) teeth and permanent teeth, on adults and children Extracting primary teeth Perform assessments of patients' oral health, including taking medical histories and identifying potential issues. Utilise digital scanning equipment available. Collaborate with dentists to assist in relevant treatment planning. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatments provided. Uphold strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Maintain a high standard of confidentiality and patient care. Ongoing professional development and the completion of CPD subjects and CPR courses as required.

Skills

Proficient knowledge and strong understanding of dental anatomy and oral health practices. Experience with digital scanning is desirable. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and equipment. Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with team members. Attention to detail, excellent organisational and time management skills to manage patient records and patient appointments efficiently are essential. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a calm, caring demeanour and the ability to build rapport with patients.
