What you need to know about the role



You will oversee the departmental planning function, collaborating with manufacturing and engineering teams to streamline and enhance proactive scheduling, ensuring maintenance plans meet target levels of schedule compliance safely and efficiently.

The Departmental Planning Engineer is the owner of the 52 week Master Schedule for the department. Proposes and manages the 6 week look ahead, including the requirements for labour, spares & external resources.

Co-ordinates the Scope of Works to be carried out during Shutdowns and implementing in conjunction with the Maintenance Engineers team.

The job holder will monitor and report in line with CAMF principles.

Your responsibilities include maintaining accurate daily feedback on hours logged into SAP by area shift teams and reporting any non-compliance to the Maintenance Engineering team through the Planning function. You will also optimize resource allocation within the department and lead the planning team.

Working alongside various plants/departments, you will ensure statutory, mandatory, legislative, and quality assurance requirements are met and properly documented.



What we need to know about you



You ideally need to be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.

Proficiency in planning and scheduling software, particularly SAP PM, is essential, as well as strong knowledge of optimising maintenance resources, tracking and reporting in alignment with modern maintenance principles, and analysing data on work activities and costs.

You must have significant experience in team management and ensuring the safe execution of tasks, demonstrating a high level of self-motivation and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels.

A methodical and structured approach is crucial, with a proven ability to develop and implement a highly efficient planning model.
