We are now seeking a
Dependency and Recovery Coordinator
to join our Birmingham team, supporting individuals across Central and South Birmingham, with a primary base at
Centre City Probation Office
.
About the role
------------------
This is a varied and rewarding role for a skilled practitioner who is confident working with complexity and committed to person-centred, trauma-informed practice.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting people from point of entry into the service and throughout their recovery journey, ensuring timely access to appropriate interventions and coordinated care.
Key responsibilities include:Supporting service users from initial engagement through treatment and recovery
Delivering screening, assessment, recovery planning and onward referrals
Reducing drug- and alcohol-related harm for individuals and communities
Promoting service user, carer and community involvement
Providing advocacy and enabling access to partnership services
Supporting social (re)integration, resilience, peer support and self-determination
Designing, preparing and delivering structured group work and pods
Facilitating groups for people at different stages of recovery
Participating in reflective debriefs and evaluations with co-facilitators
Tailoring workshops to meet identified needs, including areas such as anger management, sleep, and relationships
This role requires flexibility, collaboration and a strong commitment to recovery-oriented outcomes.

About you

You will bring experience, curiosity and a values-led approach to your practice. You will also demonstrate:A strong understanding of substance misuse and experience working in a related field
Experience delivering group work and managing group dynamics, including challenging behaviour
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with good IT capability
The ability to work proactively, manage competing priorities and use your initiative
Knowledge of mental health interventions, services and best practice
Strong partnership-working skills with internal and external stakeholders
Confidence in managing change while keeping service user needs at the centre
A clear understanding of information governance and safeguarding responsibilities
A commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Please note:
