Our client is a national facilities management company, and they are looking to recruit a Depot Maintenance Engineer for a site in Bristol.

The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) provision to ensure that the depot is safe, legal, and compliant. Also responsible for delivering reactive maintenance and repair service across all FM related disciplines, that meets customer standards and expectations.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Specific Qualifications:

  • A recognised apprenticeship or qualification (such as City and Guilds, BTEC, NVQ), or significant proven demonstrable experience in mechanical and electrical services.
  • 18th Edition electrical qualification.
  • Knowledge & Experience
  • Technical knowledge and experience of maintenance and repair of a complex working environment including electrical and mechanical equipment whilst complying with all Safety and Environmental standards.
  • Knowledge of the building trade.
  • Asset protection.
  • Fire Alarm systems maintenance.
  • Previous experience in a facilities management role, ideally in a distribution centre environment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Completion of all FM compliance responsibilities in line with the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with customer KPIs and Health and Safety legislation.
  • Highlight and action required PPM remedial works and deal with correctly, either through self delivery where appropriate or by engaging contractors via the DFM.
  • Ensure the CAFM system is used to record all work orders and to maintain the site asset database.
  • Keep the system up to date with status of tasks and input relevant information. Use the client portals as appropriate (e.g., ARMS / Hydro-X, Pest Portal).
  • Deliver an efficient, reactive maintenance service of the highest quality across all FM disciplines.
  • Prioritise to ensure an effective response and resolution to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Provide cover to campus site when there is a shortfall in labour due to vacancies, holiday, sickness, and training.
  • Perform call out responsibilities on a minimum basis of 1 week in 2 covering your site. Any on-call duty over and above the 1 in 2 will qualify for an additional payment.
  • Proactively conduct visual checks and effectively recognise and diagnose faults and failures with plant, equipment, building fabric and systems. Provide appropriate solutions or identify non-repairable faults on site assets and promptly escalate where necessary.
  • Manage contractors to ensure they are working in accordance with their RAMS and are following site rules and procedures.
  • Providing updates on tasks and to ensure the customer is kept informed of all FM related matters, including audits, Compliance documentations etc.
  • Ensure parts and materials are ordered in a timely manner in accordance with company processes
  • Adhere to relevant HR policies and procedures including, notification of absence and holidays booking procedures
  • Attend training courses as and when necessary to keep up to date and to develop your technical knowledge in line with business requirements
  • Develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of the depot and the site\'s specific FM requirements.
  • Act in accordance with the Health and Safety policy and report any accidents and near misses.
  • Support project works by carrying out minor alterations and installations.
