Working together, Key Structures and Blok Logic are expanding rapidly, providing temporary structure and ballast solutions to some of the UK's most exciting events and high-profile projects. With the opening of our brand-new Boarstall depot, we're entering a significant phase of growth and this role offers a rare chance to be at the forefront of shaping our future operations.

The Role



We are seeking an experienced Depot Manager to play a pivotal role in the set up our new Boarstall hire depot. This is a hands-on leadership position that will oversee our day-to-day operations, encompassing all facets of the job including working in the warehouse, yard and occasional driving. Initially, you will lead, motivate and develop a small but growing team consisting of one HGV driver and one warehouse operative, supporting a 24/7 operation when required.

You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery and collection of marquee equipment, blocks, ballast and barriers across multiple sites each day. You will monitor stock levels, manage all loading and unloading activities, driver and vehicle logistics. You will also be responsible for maintaining full compliance across all driving, transport, depot operations, ensuring adherence to safety, legal and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities



Manage day-to-day logistics, warehouse and yard operations. Handle internal queries and resolve operational issues effectively. Plan and optimise vehicle routing, loading and unloading schedules. Ensure that vehicles are loaded safely paying particular attention to vehicle weight limits. Ensure compliance with DVSA legislation, vehicle maintenance, tachograph, and working time directive requirements, in line with the operator's licence. Maximise utilisation of vehicles, drivers, and external hauliers to meet demand. Respond flexibly to operational issues, including occasional work outside standard hours. Monitor stock levels, including equipment, ensuring availability for client needs. Manage driver and warehouse staff rota's including supporting any ad hoc recruitment requirements. Maintain effective stock control, regular audits and accurate system record-keeping. Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse and yard environment. Implement and improve processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency and high standards of service. Set clear objectives, manage performance, and promote a culture of excellence. Maintain compliance with all relevant Health & Safety regulations and operational discipline across the depot.

About you



Proven experience in operations/depot management, ideally within the hire or logistics industry. Full UK Driving Licence (Category C). Able to operate a counterbalance forklift. Experience in a transport management role and excellent knowledge of legal compliance, logistics systems and maintenance schedules. Proven leadership and people management skills. Strong administrative, organisational, and communication abilities. Working knowledge of all relevant health and safety regulations. Flexible approach to working hours and occasional driving duties.
