Job Overview
Fortis Hire Group is seeking an experienced and dynamic Depot Manager to oversee and optimise our day-to-day operations. This role is critical in ensuring smooth delivery of our portable toilet hire services across various sectors, including events, construction, and emergency support. The Depot Manager will lead the yard operations team ensuring efficiency, excellent customer service, and adherence to health and safety standards. This is a hands-on role which encompasses all facets of the job from ensuring standards are met on site to towing units to site.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee logistics and scheduling for portable toilet deliveries, servicing, and collections.
Lead and develop a team of drivers, technicians and cleaners.
Coordinate with event organisers, construction managers, and clients to ensure timely service.
Ensure all units are properly maintained, serviced, and meet quality standards.
Monitor stock levels, including consumables and equipment, ensuring availability for client needs.
Implement and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Maintain compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
Handle client queries and resolve operational issues effectively on site.
Work closely with senior management to meet business growth targets.
Qualifications and Skills
Proven experience in operations/depot management, ideally within the hire or logistics industry.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong communication and client management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in use of logistical software and Microsoft Office.
