to lead our Birmingham depot, specialising in powered access equipment. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on operational efficiency, team management, and delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily depot operations including equipment availability, maintenance and logistics.
Lead and motivate a team of engineers, drivers, and support staff.
Monitor and report on key metrics:
Machines under PDI, repair, available and under collection
Responsibility for depot P&L
Weekly fuel usage and transport activity
Equipment utilisation and lost opportunities
Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and company procedures.
Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through timely deliveries and collections.
Support HR functions including managing sickness, holidays, training and recruitment.
Requirements
Experience in powered access, plant hire or related industries.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Operational knowledge of LOLER, PUWER and maintenance schedules.
Ability to manage KPIs and drive performance improvements.
Previous experience with the reporting of depot P&L
Customer-focused with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Previous hire desk / transport experience
