The Role - Depot Manager

As the

Depot Manager

at our

Warrington site,

reporting to the

Director of Freight Services UK,

you'll be responsible for overseeing every aspect of operational planning, fleet compliance, driver management, and customer service delivery. This senior on-site leadership role will see you managing both the driver and office teams, taking ownership of the site's performance, safety standards, and operational excellence.


You'll play a key role in shaping the success of our transport operations - balancing commercial awareness with hands-on leadership to deliver a first-class service to our customers. Your ability to engage and motivate people, drive continuous improvement, and maintain the highest standards of safety and compliance will be essential to achieving our goals.

Key Responsibilities for Depot Manager

Deliver daily operational targets and customer requirements.


Manage site budgets, cost control, and monthly P&L performance.


Ensure full Health & Safety compliance through regular reviews.


Act as HR point of contact for the on-site team.


Maintain strong customer relationships.


Lead and develop drivers and office staff.


Oversee Transport Management System (TMS) performance and compliance.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings:


Experienced in transport, logistics, or depot management.


Strong commercial awareness and financial understanding.


Committed to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.


Confident communicator and relationship builder.


Results-driven with strong organisational skills.


CPC Qualified with minimum 5 years' experience in a retail distribution background
