. As part of our continued growth, we're now looking for a driven, organised

Depot Operations Manager

to take the lead on the day-to-day running of our Ipswich operation.

This is an ideal step up for a

Container Transport Planner

who's ready for a broader operational leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

Take full ownership of

daily container transport planning

, ensuring efficient and compliant routing of vehicles Allocate drivers, plan shift patterns, and manage workloads to meet service expectations Monitor and manage

driver hours, legal compliance

, and working time regulations

Process and check driver timesheets

and ensure accurate records for payroll and reporting Coordinate and ensure we meet

vehicle servicing, MOTs, and maintenance schedules

, liaising with our internal fleet team. Be the main point of contact on-site for drivers, customers and internal teams Ensure accurate use of port booking systems (e.g. VBS) and maintain control of container scheduling

Requirements

Essential:

Proven experience in

container transport planning

Strong understanding of port systems, container scheduling, and VBS processes Knowledge of transport compliance, driver hours, and fleet maintenance practices Competent with Tops (or similar systems) Clear communicator, with the ability to lead, influence, and work calmly under pressure
