We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and logistics processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in warehouse operations, with experience in materials handling, shipping and receiving, and mechanical knowledge. This position requires physical stamina for heavy lifting and the ability to operate forklifts safely.
Responsibilities:
Completion and recording of pre work inspections via digital systems
Identifying, recording and reporting defective fixed and mobile plant equipment
Support ongoing maintenance and housekeeping programs to ensure plant and equipment is kept in a safe and fit state for use
Conduct mixing of asphalt products according to the Factory Production control requirements of BS EN 13108 Bituminous mixtures and within the Associated Asphalt control limits to ensure customers are continuously supplied with a premium product.
Monitoring of aggregate stockpile levels and identify potential contamination
Using loading shovel feed aggregate into cold feed hoppers for asphalt production
Drive in accordance with the vehicle management plan and to maintain a high level of vehicle safety
Efficiently operate mobile plant to reduce costs and emissions to the environment
To assist the Depot Supervisor at all times where required
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
To control and maintain the Asphalt plant following company procedures
To record all relevant information regarding daily production
Dispatch and load materials following company procedures
Ensure ex-works customers are dealt with in a safe and efficient manner
To report near misses/dangerous occurrences
To attend regular operational/safety/audit meetings / toolbox talks
To assist with the production of risk assessments & safe systems of work
To ensure risk assessments & Safe Systems of Work are followed
Provide weighbridge cover when required
Accountability:
To stop the use of plant for reasons of Safety, Quality, essential maintenance or environmental reasons

Commercial Manager for vehicle and material resource requirements

Knowledge and Experience:
Good knowledge of depot operational procedures
Good knowledge of raw materials and finished products
Understanding of basic maintenance
Understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental policies
Ability to act quickly and efficiently when problems or changes occur
Ability to operate mobile plant
To communicate with other staff members
Education and Training - Desirable:
IOSH Working Safely (or similar SHE competency)
SHE NVQ
Loading shovel operations experience
Weighbridge experience
Asphalt Production Experience
