Role Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and multi-skilled Depot Stores & Maintenance Person to support the day-to-day operations of our warehouse and inventory systems.

This labour-intensive role requires manual handling and lifting duties, involves managing goods in & out, conducting quality control, maintaining stock accuracy, operating a forklift, and assisting with light maintenance tasks.

The ideal candidate will hold a full clean UK driving licence and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:
Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and integrity. Report and resolve discrepancies.

Goods In & Out:
Receive, inspect, and process incoming goods. Accurately prepare and dispatch outgoing deliveries in line with company standards.

Forklift Operation:
Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery to move, load, and store goods as required.

Van Loading & Driving:
Load company vans with materials, ensuring safe transport and delivery of goods. Occasional driving duties may be required.

Quality Control:
Perform quality checks on incoming and outgoing goods to ensure they meet required specifications and standards.

Maintenance:
Identify stock that needs attention and carry out basic maintenance and repair tasks on equipment when needed.

Health & Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all company health and safety procedures and promote a clean and organised working environment.

Requirements:

Essential:

Full, clean UK driving licence Can do attitude Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred, but training can be given:

Valid forklift licence Experience with inventory control or warehouse operations Basic maintenance or mechanical skills Previous experience in a similar role within logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing Knowledge of stock management systems or ERP software Knowledge of Hire Hop Certification in health & safety or maintenance tasks (e.g., PAT testing, manual handling)
