Pay: 14 per hour / 18,312 per annum.

Location: Hybrid (supporting sites across Milton Keynes or Bedfordshire)
Start Date: Training and transition during Spring 1; official start date 1st January 2026
Role Overview
The Deputy WAC Area Manager is a key leadership position supporting the success of wraparound care (WAC) across several sites. This role combines direct management of a primary setting with mentoring responsibilities for other local sites. Working closely with the Area Manager, you'll help drive occupancy, uphold operational standards, develop staff, and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Site Management
- Lead daily operations at a WAC site, ensuring a safe, engaging environment for
children.
- Oversee program delivery, aligning activities with best practices and
developmental needs. Support to the Area Manager
- Provide hands-on support for WAC operations and strategy across multiple sites.
- Serve as a secondary contact for site leads, offering guidance and ensuring
organisational goals are met.
- Collaborate with the Area Manager to review performance data, drive occupancy,
and implement improvement plans. Staff Development
- Conduct one-to-one performance reviews with staff, fostering growth and team
morale.
- Support onboarding and training for new staff, ensuring consistent policy
implementation.
- Promote continuous learning through in-house CPD opportunities. Occupancy & Stakeholder Engagement
- Monitor and manage occupancy rates, implementing creative strategies to
maintain high enrolment.
- Build strong relationships with parents, schools, and community partners.
- Support the Area Manager in liaising with school leadership for smooth
operational integration. Compliance & Ofsted Preparation
- Ensure full compliance with organisational policies and regulatory standards.
- Take an active role in preparing the sites for Ofsted inspections.
- Support high-quality provision across all settings. Team Deployment & Operational Support
- Assist with team deployment to ensure efficient operations across locations.
- Contribute to staff resourcing decisions to meet program needs.
Person Specification
Essential Skills & Experience
- Full UK driving license.
- Experience overseeing childcare programs or coordinating multiple sites.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strategic thinking in occupancy management, team development, and service
growth.
- In-depth knowledge of Ofsted requirements and safeguarding in childcare.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Level 3 qualification in childcare.
