The Deputy Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our care Home, providing leadership and support to staff while delivering high-quality care to our children. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in senior care, particularly those with experience in residential children's homes. The Deputy Manager will assist in developing and implementing care plans, oversee medication administration, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Duties
Assist the Manager in the daily operations of the care home, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for the children in the home.
Be part of the team and support the manager and staff team - Be the glue in-between
Ensure all daily paperwork is complete to a high standard
Ensure the rota is covered and annual leave is supported
Supervise and mentor staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and professional development.
Develop, implement, and review individualised personal plans for children, ensuring they meet their specific needs.
Oversee medication administration procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Liaise with families and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for Children
Ensure that all health and safety protocols are adhered to within the home.
Complete regular fire paperwork
Supervise staff and complete annual appraisals.
Be part of the on call system
Ensure the home is meeting CIW requirement's
Any other duties instructed by the home manager or Directors.
Skills
Proven experience in residential care
Need to be QCF 3 qualified
Strong background in senior care management.
Knowledge of CIW regulations
Excellent leadership skills with a focus on staff supervision and development.
Ability to create and implement effective personal plans tailored to individual resident needs.
Proficient in medication administration protocols and health regulations.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with children, families, and staff members.
