To play an advanced role in assisting the Cost Accountant in the provision of a high-quality costing service and deputising when necessary. Ensure that the financial and activity information is produced in accordance with national costing standards and to produce all areas of costing including Service Line Reporting, Patient Level Costing, National Cost Collection and other statutory returns. Provision of activity-based costing reports to key stakeholders Provide specialist knowledge and financial advice to Operational Boards and service units within the Trust, in particular using Service Line Reporting and Patient Level Costing information to support the process of commissioning the Trusts patient care services and making recommendations for improvements to the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery within the Trust. Support modelling the impact of National Guidance on the financial and information flows to assess the associated risks and opportunities.
To train and develop other members of the Finance department as and when required on all elements of costing. Work with the Systems and Data Architect to integrate data from Trust systems into the Trust data warehouse Develop new visualisations using PowerBI that allow greater insight into Trust services utilising new technologies, software and latest thinking around visualisation. Provide a benchmarking function for all aspects of Trust services and liaise with key stakeholders to help identify areas for financial improvement. Participate in and contribute to projects as and when they arise, both internally and externally Assist in the regular review of costing methodology for making best use of resources across the Trust, in conjunction with key stakeholders.
Support teams in the extraction and analysis of data, from the SLR system and Bench marking systems using comparisons to the Model Health System. Represent the Trust when required at external costing events and meetings, ensuring any learning is embedded into changed processes and procedures as appropriate.
