ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. ARU holds a Gold award for the quality of its education, awarded through the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).
ARU's research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical and creative fields. We deliver impactful research which tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities. Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK's Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK's leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.
About the Role:
This role provides strategic leadership in education within the Faculty, working closely with the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean to implement the Education Strategy and ensure alignment with ARU's ambitions. In this role you will focus on promoting excellence and innovation in teaching, fostering active, inclusive, and collaborative learning across all disciplines.
You will lead the delivery of education priorities by coordinating the development and evaluation of high-impact teaching practices and promoting academic colleagues' professional growth. Supporting our four Heads of School is also a key responsibility, helping them to translate strategy into practical, impactful actions including sustainable curriculum development and inclusive best practice.
You will contribute to university-wide initiatives as part of the Education Strategic Leadership Team. Working closely with the DVC Education, Degrees at Work and professional services, you will play a pivotal role in shaping institution-wide pedagogic innovation, raising educational standards and making a lasting impact on student learning and experience.
You will be expected to maintain a strong academic profile through teaching, research, and scholarship and will be a role model to early career researchers.
