About the role
The Deputy Editor plays a pivotal role in shaping the editorial output of Infosecurity Magazine, a globally respected cybersecurity platform trusted by professionals for over 20 years. This position demands strong journalistic skills and the ability to analyse and report on key industry trends with clarity and authority.
Reporting directly to the Editor, the Deputy Editor is responsible for producing high-quality content for the digital platform, supporting the News Reporter in the Editor's absence, and contributing to sponsored client campaigns, including webinars and online events. The role also involves sharing industry insights with the wider Infosecurity Group team to help inform and support the brand's strategic direction.
Responsibilities

  • Write timely and engaging news articles, including interviews and industry analysis, for the Infosecurity Magazine website
  • Develop in-depth features on cybersecurity trends using diverse sources and expert insights
  • Edit and refine content from contributors to ensure clarity and accuracy
  • Coordinate guest writers and opinion pieces, supporting a range of voices
  • Research and curate virtual events and webinars, including speaker outreach
  • Create social media content to promote published work and increase engagement
  • Use compelling storytelling to grow web traffic and subscriber base
  • Attend press briefings and industry events when relevant and approved by the Editor
Requirements
  • Strong editorial judgement, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to manage multiple writing tasks and prioritise effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with timely responsiveness
  • Confident presentation and public speaking skills for virtual and live formats
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Understanding of Infosecurity Magazine's audience and editorial focus
  • Experience in cybersecurity or technology journalism is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in digital publishing and evidence of published work
