Scarcroft Golf Club is seeking a dedicated and experienced
Deputy Head Greenkeeper
to join our team.
This position would ideally suit someone with a
minimum of five years' greenkeeping experience
who is looking to take the next step into a supervisory role and ultimately work towards becoming a
Course Manager
in the future.
You will work alongside our highly experienced Head Greenkeeper, managing the greenkeeping team and overseeing their day-to-day duties.

Key Responsibilities
Assist the Head Greenkeeper in managing the greenkeeping team.
Take responsibility for the team in the Head Greenkeeper's absence, in line with club policy.
Daily course preparation, including cutting playing surfaces, changing holes, and bunker maintenance.
Spraying, fertilising, and carrying out disease-control programmes.
Ensure the course is consistently presented to the highest standards, exceeding member and visitor expectations.
Undertake construction, aeration, drainage, and turfing projects.
Safely operate a wide range of turfcare and course maintenance machinery.
Complete all work in line with health and safety regulations.
Participate in relevant training and development opportunities.
Candidate Requirements
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
A strong work ethic with pride in delivering top-quality course presentation.
Full UK driving licence.
Flexibility to work additional hours when required.
Experience in the maintenance and operation of turfcare machinery (advantageous).
Qualifications
NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf (essential).
NVQ Level 3 in Sports Turf (desirable).
PA1, PA2, and PA6 spraying certificates (essential).
First Aid at Work (desirable).
Chainsaw cross-cutting and felling (desirable).
