The Deputy Head Housekeeper plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation within the establishment. This position is responsible for overseeing the housekeeping department, managing staff, and maintaining a welcoming environment for guests. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hotel operations and hospitality, coupled with extensive janitorial experience.
Duties
Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations to ensure all areas are cleaned to the highest standards.
Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping staff, fostering a positive team environment.
Develop and implement housekeeping policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards.
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
Collaborate with other departments to address guest needs and resolve any issues promptly.
Prepare reports on housekeeping activities, including staff performance and inventory usage.
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the housekeeping department.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is essential.
Proven experience in janitorial services or similar roles is highly desirable.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
Excellent organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
