Deputy Head of Retail

to help shape the future of our thriving retail operation, generating over 4 million annually to support vital care services in our community.

About the Role




Working closely with the Head of Retail, you will lead the operational delivery and strategic growth of our extensive charity retail estate. You'll oversee a high-performing team including four Cluster Managers and a Logistics Supervisor, ensuring targets are exceeded, costs are controlled, and our shops continue to deliver an exceptional customer experience.You will deputise in the absence of the Head of Retail.


This is a key leadership position where your expertise in charity retail, financial planning, team development and property acquisition will be instrumental in driving growth and innovation across our retail network.

Key Responsibilities



Support the strategic planning and delivery of our retail income targets Lead and develop the retail leadership team to maximise shop performance and motivation Analyse financial and market data to identify new trading opportunities Lead on annual business planning and budgeting Oversee property acquisition and lease negotiations for new retail locations Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and Trading Standards legislation Drive performance on Gift Aid, stock profitability, and customer service Foster a positive and inclusive culture aligned with our values and behaviours

What We're Looking For



Proven experience leading large, high-performing retail teams Strong track record in charity retail at a senior management level In-depth knowledge of budgets, forecasting, P&L and commercial decision-making Strong understanding of compliance, Health & Safety and charity regulations A strategic thinker with excellent communication, leadership and people management skills A values-driven professional committed to continuous improvement and community impact
