This Is My Education (TIME) are recruiting for a Deputy Head Teacher to lead on the dynamic development of the curriculum and Quality of Education across all key stages. We are looking for an outstanding relationship builder, with a passion for providing pupils with the best possible education. The successful candidate will have solid experience in curriculum development across all key stages.

You will be energetic and have a strong sense of moral purpose, and the ability to inspire the team to achieve the highest standards to ensure best outcomes for pupils.

TIME is a specialist SEMH school based in St Helens. We are a day school specialising in the education and care of children and young people between the age of 13 and 19 years who all have an Education Health Care Plan . The role and responsibility of the Deputy Headteacher is to support and assist the Headteacher with strategic planning and in managing, leading, and developing the school. The Deputy Headteacher will undertake professional duties delegated to them by the Headteacher and deputise for the position as and when the need arises. The Deputy Headteacher is a member of the School Leadership Team who, under the leadership of the Headteacher, work together to:

Formulate the vison, ethos, and objectives of the school. Play a leading role in the school improvement and school self-evaluation planning process. Establish policies improving school organisation and effectives. Manage staff and resources. Promote a culture of inclusion within the school community where all views are valued and considered. Leading on the Quality of Education across the school Lead on developing and monitoring of the school curriculum. Lead by example to motivate and work with others. Monitor progress and achievement of all students.
The successful candidate will have experience in supporting our young people who may have autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, ADHD and associated complex needs.

All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with Disclosure & Barring Service and at least 2 references which cover the last 3 years; for all our services we will request references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults.

Qualifications:

A degree and Qualified Teacher status, with at least 2 years of management experience in an educational setting, particularly working with SEMH/Autism. Prior experience in SEND settings and a willingness to pursue further qualifications in SEND (if not already qualified). Strong understanding of the curriculum, safeguarding procedures, and knowledge of Ofsted/KCSiE standards. Proven ability to lead and inspire staff, with excellent communication skills and a track record of managing resources effectively. Confidence in using data for self-evaluation, setting targets, and problem-solving, paired with strong analytical skills.
