Start Date:

Are you an inspiring leader with a passion for helping children who learn differently thrive?

The Willows School is a small, friendly independent day school for pupils aged 5 to 16. We specialise in supporting children who find mainstream education difficult, including those with Autism, ADHD and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. With a nurturing approach, tailored curriculum, and dedicated staff, we help every child discover their strengths and reach their potential.

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Deputy Head Teacher to join our leadership team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the day-to-day running of the school and to help shape an environment where every pupil is seen, supported and celebrated.

What you'll be doing:

Working closely with the Headteacher to lead and manage the daily operations of the school. Delivering high-quality teaching for 50% of your working week - modelling best practice and directly supporting pupils through a personalised, inclusive approach. Leading and developing teaching and learning strategies that meet the needs of a diverse student population. Supporting and mentoring staff to maintain high standards and ensure consistent progress across the school. Helping to shape and deliver a rich, engaging curriculum tailored to individual learners. Promoting a safe, positive and inclusive school culture where all pupils feel valued and supported. Building strong relationships with families, carers and professionals to ensure joined-up support for our pupils.

What we're looking for:

A skilled and experienced teacher with leadership experience, ideally within a SEN or SEMH setting. A strong understanding of inclusive education and how to support children with additional needs. Excellent communication, organisational and people skills. A calm, creative and flexible approach, with a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children.

What we offer:

We value our staff and offer a range of benefits, including:

A 'Refer a Friend' bonus scheme - recommend another great teacher and be rewarded. Blue Light Card membership - enjoy discounts on many of your favourite brands, restaurants and shops. Access to face-to-face staff counselling - supporting your emotional wellbeing. Company pension scheme - helping you plan for the future. Free on-site parking - no need to hunt for a space in the morning. Career progression opportunities - as we grow, so can you. Paid induction and high-quality training - including First Aid, Safeguarding, Trauma Awareness and more.

Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment

The Willows School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks, references, an online search and other relevant pre-employment checks.

References will be requested prior to interview.
