We're on the lookout for a talented and motivated Deputy Manager to join the team at The Durham Ox -- a family-owned, award-winning local restaurant with rooms, right in the heart of Ilkeston. What You'll Be Doing: Supporting the General Manager and Owner in the smooth, efficient daily operation Leading by example and inspiring a small, friendly team Coordinating with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure consistent, excellent service Handling guest feedback with warmth and professionalism Creating a welcoming guest journey that encourages positive feedback and repeat visits Mentoring and training team members, fostering a happy and healthy working atmosphere Overseeing staff rota and managing wage costs Handling stock management, ordering, and inventory control Planning and managing table plans, reservations, and efficient service flow Ensuring full compliance with health & safety regulations Managing our social media presence Working with our web designer to keep the website up to date What We're Looking For: Proven experience in a hospitality management or supervisory role Solid knowledge of food service, FOH operations, and bar/cellar management A confident, calm, and natural leader with excellent communication skills Ability to multitask and stay organised in a fast-paced environment A true passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences Awareness of licensing, compliance, and food safety best practices Why Join Us?
