We are looking for a motivated and dedicated
Deputy Manager
to support the setup and ongoing development of a brand-new children's residential home in Bedford.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping a new service from the ground up. You'll work closely with an experienced Responsible Individual and senior leadership team to establish a warm, nurturing, and trauma-informed environment where children can thrive.
This role includes a
clear pathway to Registered Manager status
, with full training, mentoring, and professional development provided.
Key Responsibilities
Support the setup and registration of the new home with Ofsted.
Assist in recruiting, training, and developing a skilled and supportive staff team.
Help create a nurturing, trauma-informed environment where children feel safe and valued.
Ensure compliance with the
Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
and
Quality Standards
.
Oversee daily operations, promoting high standards of care and support.
Contribute to safeguarding, record-keeping, budgeting, and supervision processes.
Work collaboratively with senior leaders to develop your management and leadership skills.
Requirements
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
(or equivalent).
Working towards or willing to complete
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
.
Minimum
2 years' experience
working in a residential children's home.
Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and EBD support.
Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
Sound knowledge of
Ofsted regulations
and
safeguarding procedures
.
Passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their potential.
