We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our day nursery team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a compassionate approach to children's care, with a focus on children's well-being and development. The Deputy Manager will support the management team in delivering personalised care plans, supervising staff, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Previous experience in a day nursery environment, is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the day nursery, ensuring high standards of care are maintained at all times
Supervise and support care staff, promoting best practices
Contribute to the development and review of personalised care plans for children, including medication administration and specialised planning
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and legal requirements
Lead on staff training programmes related to children, behaviour management, planning, emotional well-being etc.
Monitor resident wellbeing, responding promptly to any concerns or changes in condition
Support staff and children with daily day to day running of the room.
Maintain effective communication with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies
Assist in managing staffing rotas and resource allocation to ensure smooth operational flow
Qualifications
Proven experience in day nursery environments, particularly with experience in management
Strong leadership and supervisory skills with previous management or deputy management experience
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Relevant qualifications childcare (e.g., CCLD Level 5 CHildcare Leadership and development or equivalent) are essential
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and foster a positive working environment
