Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager for our childcare setting Venture Kids. The successful candidate will deputise for the manager in his or her absence, help with day to day management of the club and facilitate quality childcare within the framework of the club's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

. Helping the manager with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.

Managing the team, offering feedback and support in their role and modelling a good playwork ethos.

Providing comprehensive care for the children including collecting them from school and delivering them safely to parents/carers.

Setting up the play space including moving furniture and play equipment.

Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met.

Administering first aid when necessary.

Undertaking appropriate and relevant training.

Keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure.

Working within the framework of the club's policies and procedures, and minimum standards guidelines.

Essential Skills

Level 5 qualification Playwork/CCLD or degree level qualification in a relevant field (or willingness to work towards qualification).

A minimum of 2 years' experience working with 4 to 11year olds

An understanding the varied needs of children and their families

An understanding of the issues involved in the delivery of quality play care

Good communication skills

Ability to work on own initiative

Appropriate child protection training

Current 12-hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate

Food Hygiene Certificate

Valid driving licence.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 30 per week
