Job Summary:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced
Deputy Manager
to join a well-established mental health service supporting individuals with severe and enduring mental health diagnoses. The role offers the chance to make a lasting impact within a multi-site mental health care provider offering both inpatient and recovery-focused services.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Manager in delivering clinical leadership and oversight to a multidisciplinary team.
Ensure high-quality, individualised care is provided in accordance with best practice and relevant legislation.
Foster a therapeutic environment and lead by example in promoting personal recovery and wellbeing.
Participate in audits, compliance checks, and quality improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with external agencies to enhance patient care pathways.
Oversee safe administration of medication and ensure safeguarding processes are followed.
Contribute to the development and delivery of training, inductions, appraisals, and clinical supervision.
Uphold and promote the organisation's mission, vision, and core values.
About the Services:
Dartmouth House (Handsworth Wood):
16-bed male long-term complex care inpatient unit.
Montague Court (Edgbaston):
18-bed male long-term complex care inpatient unit.
Orchard House (Erdington):
8-bed residential step-down service for recovery and reintegration.
Stanford Court (Highgate, opening soon):
23-bed male inpatient unit including 4 recovery flats.
Requirements:
Registered Mental Health Nurse (NMC Part 3 or 13).
Active NMC pin and registration in good standing.
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Staff Nurse.
Evidence of postgraduate learning relevant to the role.
Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 & 2007, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding protocols.
Proven experience in care planning, risk assessment, and working with vulnerable adults with complex needs.
Understanding of Clinical Governance, Care Programme Approach, and Child Protection Legislation.
