The Role
As the Deputy Manager you will support the Registered Manager in in the day to day running of the home, ensuring operations comply with relevant legislation and policy requirements. You will play a vital role in creating a supportive, stable environment you're your people, leading by example and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager in delivering high quality, nurturing care within a child focused organisation dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for children.
Respond flexibility to the needs of the home and young people, including working varied shifts and occasional sleep ins (paid in addition.)
Motivate, supervise, and appraise staff, ensuring effective training and development to meet service needs.
Write reports and attend/chair meetings, working in close collaboration with external agencies, families and professionals.
Qualifications and Requirements
A minimum of 3 years' recent experience in children's residential care with a minimum of 2 years in senior post.
NVQ Level 3/4 Health & Social Care Children and Young People or equivalent.
Solid understanding of EBD, safeguarding and child protection practices.
Excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and make informed decisions
Genuine passion for improving the lives of young people.
Full UK Drivers Licence
