to join our dedicated team in a small, nurturing 2-bed children's residential home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in West Bromwich B71
You will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home operates to the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance, providing a safe, structured, and supportive environment where young people can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager in the
day-to-day running
of the home, ensuring compliance with
Ofsted
regulations and
Children's Homes Regulations 2015
.
Lead, motivate, and supervise a small staff team, including carrying out
supervisions, appraisals, and training
.
Ensure all care plans, risk assessments, and reports are accurate, up-to-date, and person-centred.
Promote the
emotional, physical, and social development
of the young people, enabling them to achieve positive outcomes.
Safeguard and protect the welfare of children, following safeguarding policies and reporting procedures.
Participate in
on-call
rota and cover shifts where necessary.
Maintain positive working relationships with local authorities, social workers, and other professionals.
Promote a homely, safe, and stimulating environment that reflects the individual needs of the young people.
Requirements
Level 3 Diploma
in Children and Young People's Workforce (Residential Childcare) - or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years' experience
working in a residential children's setting, with at least
1 year in a senior or team leader role
.
Strong knowledge of EBD and trauma-informed care approaches.
Clear understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties.
Full UK Driving Licence (preferred).
Willingness to work towards
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
(if not already held).
