Highlands Group is currently expanding in the process of recruiting a deputy manager for children with Learning Disabilities and Autism. We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Deputy Manager where you'll support the Registered Manager to create a setting where each child can thrive and reach their full potential and ensuring children and young people are involved in all decision making.
We are looking for someone willing to go above and beyond for the children and young people. You will be responsible for the safeguarding of the children and young people in your care. You will understand the needs of the children and young people and ensure all staff work with them to deliver positive outcomes.
It is the nature of residential childcare work that tasks and responsibilities are, in many circumstances, unpredictable and varied. All employees are therefore, expected to work in a flexible way when the occasion arises and tasks which are not specifically covered in the job description must be undertaken. If the additional responsibility or task becomes a regular or frequent part of the employee's job, it will be included in the job description after consultation with the employee.
Key Skills Required:
To be successful in this role of Deputy Manager it is essential you have the following skills and attributes.
Good working knowledge and understanding of current care legislation
Place high quality outcomes at the heart of everything in the residential home
Understand the importance of providing flexible and personalised packages to meet the needs of every young person
A current full UK driving licence
On-call responsibilities as required
Assisting the Registered Manager to ensure the Home meets its regulatory responsibility to safeguard all young people.
Has experience within children's residential
Must have NVQ level 3 in child residential care
