The Role
We are looking for an experienced
Deputy Home Manager
to support the Registered Manager in leading and developing our children's home in Lewisham.
You will play a key role in ensuring the home operates to Ofsted's "Good" or "Outstanding" standards -- leading staff, maintaining compliance, promoting safeguarding, and ensuring the best possible care for young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home.
Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of residential care staff to deliver high-quality, therapeutic care.
Ensure that care plans, placement plans, and risk assessments are up to date and implemented effectively.
Promote a culture of reflection, professional learning, and continuous improvement.
Oversee safeguarding practice, ensuring all concerns are identified, reported, and acted upon.
Manage staff rotas, supervisions, and performance reviews.
Support with inspections, audits, and quality assurance processes.
Maintain accurate, Ofsted-compliant records, including incident reports and daily logs.
Build strong, trusting relationships with young people, helping them develop independence, resilience, and positive outcomes.
Deputise for the Registered Manager when required, ensuring continuity of leadership and care.
About You
You are a motivated, child-centred professional with a strong understanding of trauma-informed care and leadership within residential childcare.
Essential Criteria
Aged 21 or over (Ofsted requirement)
Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent
Enhanced DBS check (required prior to employment)
At least 2 years' experience working in a residential childcare setting
Experience in a senior or team leader role
Excellent understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Confident decision-maker with a calm, professional approach
Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and participate in on-call rota
Desirable Criteria
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)
Full UK driving licence
Experience supporting Ofsted inspections or working in a regulated setting
Knowledge of trauma-informed or therapeutic care models
