Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Deputy Manager to join our dynamic team. As the Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations of the residential home, supporting the Home Manager in the management of the service, and ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained. You will work closely with the team to ensure the needs of the children are met, promoting a positive and empowering environment that encourages development and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Home Manager in all aspects of the home's operations and decision-making.
Provide effective leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring high-quality care standards are consistently met.
Lead by example, creating a positive and respectful culture within the team.
Ensure all care plans are up-to-date and tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
Oversee staff performance, providing supervision and training to ensure professional development.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
Monitor and maintain compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
Be on call to provide guidance and support during out-of-hours situations.
Key Requirements:
Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a children's residential home or similar setting.
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), with a willingness to work towards further qualifications if not already held.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with children, families, and staff.
A passion for working with vulnerable children and young people, promoting their development and well-being.
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, under pressure and to deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-focused approach.
