The Deputy Manager plays a vital role in supporting the overall management of our childcare facility. This position requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about early childhood education and has experience working with children. The Deputy Manager will assist in overseeing daily operations, ensuring that the highest standards of care and education are provided to all children in our nursery.
Duties
Drive initiatives that promote a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all children.
Support staff training and development to enhance their skills in childcare and early childhood education.
To assist the manager to create a safe, caring and welcoming setting in which parents are happy to entrust their child and where their child is encouraged and supported to flourish in an enabling and stimulating environment.
To take on managerial roles in the manager's absence
An enthusiastic individual who is motivated to deliver rich learning experiences to children through the medium of Welsh
Contribute to the daily planning of engaging and exciting activities; providing children with the opportunity to think creatively, solve problems and take measured risks.
To act as a key carer to a group of children, settling in children and working closely with families.
Adhere to Ty Chwarae Glyncoed policies and procedures.
To reflect on practice and daily routines, tailoring them to meet the individual needs of each child, throughout the day.
To be professional and a good role model at all times.
Skills
Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting.
Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
Proficient communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to engage with children, parents, and staff effectively.
Ability to drive initiatives that enhance the quality of care provided within the nursery.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
A genuine passion for nurturing children's development and wellbeing.
