We are seeking a motivated, individual who has experience has a Senior Support Worker or Team Leader to play the role of a Deputy Manager and support the Registered Manager in the daily operations of a semi-independent home for young people aged 16+. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in ensuring that high standards of care and support are delivered in line with Ofsted regulations and organisational policies. Must have NVQ Level 3 Children's Residential Care (or equivalent)
Key Duties
and Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the semi-independent home, ensuring it meets Ofsted standards and complies with all relevant legislation and policies.
Lead, supervise, and support a team of Support Workers to deliver high-quality care and support to young people aged 16-18.
Promote the welfare, independence, and personal development of young people in line with their individual support and placement plans.
Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals, and ensure staff training and development needs are met.
Support in the recruitment, induction, and performance management of staff.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of reports, risk assessments, incident logs, and other records.
Work in partnership with local authorities, social workers, education providers, and other agencies to achieve positive outcomes for young people.
Ensure the home environment is safe, welcoming, and well-maintained, adhering to safeguarding and health & safety standards.
Participate in the on-call rota and provide cover as required.
Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence, maintaining effective leadership and operational oversight.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years' experience working within a children's residential care setting or similar setting.
Previous senior or team leader experience preferred.
Comprehensive understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and the Ofsted framework.
Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team in delivering high-quality care.
Excellent communication, organisational, and record-keeping skills.
NVQ Level 3 in Children's Residential Care (or equivalent)
Enhanced DBS check required before employment.
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.
