Sunlight Children's Care Ltd has 3 therapeutic EBD children's residential homes in Derby who are dedicated to supporting young people aged 8 to 18 who have faced significant adversity. Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Deputy Manager to work along side the homes Registered Manager in delivering high-quality care and ensuring our young people's well-being aligns with our mission of safety and development together with supporting our dedicated team at Sunlight Children's Care Ltd.

Responsibilities

Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the residential facility. Support the implementation of care plans tailored to each young person's needs. Supervise and lead care staff to ensure high standards of care. Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding policies. Contribute to staff training and development initiatives. Monitor the well-being of young people and respond appropriately to their needs. Maintain accurate records and reports related to care activities. Promote a positive, nurturing environment that fosters growth and resilience. On call rota (out of hours), every 5 weeks to provide emergency support and guidance to the team

Qualifications

Level 4 Children Young People and Families Practitioner, Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (must have experience working with children) Proven supervisory or management experience within a residential or care setting. Strong leadership and supervisory skills. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and regulatory standards. Excellent communication skills with children, families, professional bodies and team members. Ability to support staff development and foster teamwork. Experience with care planning and implementing policies. Compassionate approach tailored to vulnerable young people. Relevant qualifications in childcare or social work are essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: 16.01-17.07 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience:

supervisory: 2 years (preferred) Residential Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
