Requirements:
Level 3 childcare qualification
At least 2 years experience in a managerial role
Montessori Qualification (desirable)
Forest School experience (desirable)
Experience as a DSL
Hours & Schedule
Full time, 40 hours per week, (nursery is open 51 weeks)
4 days per week
8:00am - 6:00pm
Includes a paid 1 hour lunch break each day
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Deputy Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Montessori Nursery and Forest School Sessions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and childcare, with experience in both the Montessori approach and Forest School. Candidates must have the ability to lead a team while ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to manage both staff and children effectively.
Duties
Manage the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Lead, mentor, and support nursery staff in delivering high-quality childcare.
Develop and implement engaging educational programmes that promote children's learning and development.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns that may arise.
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and visitors.
Drive initiatives to enhance the nursery's reputation within the community.
Monitor and assess children's development through regular observations and assessments.
Work alongside the Area Manager to continue and develop the existing high quality, long standing nursery provision.
Organise staff training sessions to ensure continuous professional development.
