Job Summary


The Deputy Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the overall operations of our care facility. This position involves overseeing the daily activities of staff and ensuring that high standards of care are maintained for all residents. The Deputy Manager will work closely and support the Registered Manager to implement care plans, supervise and train care staff, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities



Assist the Registered Nurses in the development, implementation and review of individual care plans for people, to include liasing with people and their families to identify their needs, wishes and preferences including those at end of life. You will conduct and record mental capacity assessments and complete best interest decisions where people are not able to consent to their care plans. You will be confident at completing DOLS referals. You will conduct regular reviews with people and their famillies. You will lead on the induction of care staff and on delivering the Care Certificate. Supervise and manage care staff to ensure they provide high-quality care. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the nursing home environment. Oversee medication administration, completing audits and leading on monthly medication ordering. You will assess the competency of other staff responsible for the administration of medication. Provide leadership and support to team members, fostering a positive working environment. Address any concerns or complaints from residents or their families promptly and professionally. participate in the on-call rota, cover for the Registered Manager during their absence. Complete CQC notifications and safeguarding referals as required by the Registered Manager.

Skills



Strong knowledge of care plans and risk assessmnents, MCA and DOLS applications. Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively. Experience in senior care is essential. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with residents, families, staff and the MDT Ability to administer medication safely and understand relevant regulations. Experience of ordering and managing medications. Experience of investigating incidents. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing daily operations. Compassionate approach towards providing care for elderly people. Minimum level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care and a minimum of 2 years experience of working at a senior level. Leadership qualification is desirable. Have experience of completing safeguarding referals and CQC notifications.

Pay: 38,000.00-40,000.00 per year
