Are you experienced in children's residential care? Ready to step into a leadership role and help run a warm, safe home for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties? Join Edison Young People as a Deputy Manager and support our Registered Manager to deliver outstanding care.



What you'll do:

Lead the home in the Registered Manager's absence, including on-call duties Support day-to-day operations, staff supervision, and admin tasks Ensure every child has a tailored Care Plan involving them and their family/advocate Work closely with social workers and staff to develop and review Care Plans Manage staff rotas, assist with recruitment, training, and performance reviews Lead team meetings and share updates with the team Report accidents, incidents, and safeguarding concerns following Ofsted regulations Support children's education, social activities, and healthy lifestyles Help prepare nutritious meals and maintain a clean, homely environment Transport children to appointments, school, and leisure activities Keep up with health & safety, fire safety, and company policies Write reports and contribute to the home's quality standards


What you'll need:

Level 3 or 4 qualification in Residential Childcare Minimum 2 years' experience in children's residential care, including 1 year in a supervisory or deputy role Strong safeguarding knowledge and understanding of care regulations Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills Ability to work flexibly, lead shifts confidently, and stay calm under pressure Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK Caring, approachable, and team-focused attitude
