We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our care home team specialising in senior care and dementia support. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting the management team to deliver high-quality care services, ensuring the well-being and safety of residents. The Deputy Manager will be responsible for supervising staff, overseeing care plans, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
Duties
Assist the Home Manager in the day-to-day operations of the care home, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
Supervise and support care staff, promoting best practices in dementia and Alzheimer's care.
Oversee the implementation and review of personalised care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
Administer medication in accordance with prescribed protocols, maintaining accurate records.
Lead staff training programmes to enhance skills in nursing, dementia, and senior care.
Monitor resident health and wellbeing, liaising with healthcare professionals as required.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and legal requirements.
Support residents' emotional and physical needs through compassionate leadership and personalised attention.
Assist with recruitment, staff scheduling, and performance management processes.
Skills
Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home environments, particularly within dementia or Alzheimer's care.
Strong leadership qualities with previous supervising or management experience in a care setting.
Excellent understanding of care plans, medication administration, and regulatory standards within a care home or home care context.
Compassionate approach to senior care with a focus on person-centred support.
Effective communication skills to liaise confidently with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
Organised and capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently under pressure.
Knowledge of legal requirements related to nursing practice and eldercare legislation.
Demonstrated ability to motivate teams whilst maintaining high standards of quality care.
