is seeking a reliable and confident Deputy Manager to support the daily running of our long-established residential home, which supports up to 40 elderly residents. This role is divided between office-based duties and hands-on time on the floor, leading shifts and supporting the care team.
About the Role:
The Deputy Manager will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home operates safely, smoothly and in line with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include completing care documentation, overseeing daily care delivery, supervising staff, supporting resident needs, and participating in the
on-call every other weekend
.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven leadership experience within a care home setting
Ability to lead, support and supervise staff during shifts
Strong understanding of care planning, including writing, reviewing and updating care plans
Confident administering medication in line with policy and legislation
Good awareness of safeguarding procedures and reporting requirements
Ability to manage day-to-day care issues and respond appropriately in emergencies
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to complete accurate daily records, incident reports and handovers
Good understanding of risk assessments and how to implement safe working practices
Ability to build positive, professional relationships with residents, families and staff
Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively
Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care and willingness to work towards NVQ Level 5

Experience using the
Camascope medication system
Experience using
Person Centered Software (PCS)
Experience submitting
CQC notifications
Knowledge or experience of participating in
CQC inspections
Experience completing
DoLS applications and associated paperwork
Previous experience working specifically as a Deputy Manager or Senior role
