We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Nurse Manager to support the Registered Manager in the clinical and operational leadership of our well-established care home. This is a pivotal role for a dedicated nurse who leads by example and is passionate about delivering exceptional, person-centred care. You will play a key part in maintaining high standards, fostering a supportive environment for residents and staff, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Role Overview
As Deputy Nurse Manager, you will:
Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the home.
Provide strong, visible clinical leadership to nursing and care teams.
Assume full clinical and managerial responsibility in the absence of the Registered Manager.
Ensure the delivery of high-standard nursing care through robust assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Maintain a safe, homely, and fully compliant environment for all residents.
Lead by example through direct involvement in the care process.
Participate in the on-call rota to ensure 24/7 clinical oversight.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical & Quality Leadership
Oversee and monitor nursing care standards and service provision.
Coordinate clinical services, including GP rounds, medical appointments, and allied health professional visits.
Ensure care plans are person-centred, regularly reviewed, and effectively communicated to residents and families.
Operational & Compliance Management
Ensure compliance with company policies, Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, and all statutory regulations.
Investigate and manage complaints, incidents, and safeguarding concerns as delegated.
Maintain accurate records and audit reports to support quality assurance.
Team Development & Support
Supervise, mentor, and motivate nursing and care teams to deliver exceptional service.
Assist with recruitment, induction, training, performance appraisals, and staff development initiatives.
Promote a culture of continuous professional development and evidence-based best practice.
Resident & Family Engagement
Act as a key point of contact for residents and their families, providing updates and addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism.
Champion dignity, respect, and individual choice in all aspects of care delivery.
Candidate ProfileEssential Requirements
Registered General Nurse (RGN) with valid NMC registration.
Minimum of 6-8 years of post-registration clinical experience.
Confident clinical leader with proven ability to manage teams, delegate effectively, and respond to emergencies.
Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Comprehensive understanding of CQC standards, safeguarding protocols, and clinical governance.
Committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care and driving continuous improvement.
Desirable Experience
Previous experience in a senior nurse or deputy management role within a care home setting.
Additional qualifications in leadership, management, or a specialised clinical field.
