Deputy Nursery Manager - Lara Nursery, Thirsk



Location: Thirsk, North Yorkshire



Hours: Monday - Friday 40 hours a week



What will you be doing day to day?



Accountabilities




As a Deputy manager, you will firstly be deputising in the absence of the Nursery Manager to provide effective daily management of the Nursery, including developing and leading a brilliant team and driving exceptionally high standards throughout.


Then, secondly, to have a lead focus on providing the highest standard of Early Years care and education whilst supporting colleagues to deliver the same consistently high standard.


You will act as the Designated Safeguarding Person within the setting in the Nursery Manager's absence showing competence in following policy.

Responsibilities:



To support the Nursery Manager with the day to day running of the nursery, including stepping into the manager role when they are absent. To support the nursery room leaders in providing activities to achieve the premium quality practice. Working closely with the Early Years Manager to work to common goals. To support the delivery of the curriculum and advocating for our pedagogy. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs that align with regulatory requirements and best practices in early childhood education. To promote continuous improvement & development throughout, proactively driving the settings and the practice forward. You will also support and actively promote the safety, security and well-being of all children, staff and visitors always. Lead, mentor and inspire a team to deliver exceptional care and education to all children in our care. Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead at the nursery, holding overall responsibility for the day to day running of the nursery, as well as management of safeguarding and child protection policies.

Flexibility and punctuality. Ability to use ICT appropriately and effectively An empathetic, supportive and non-judgemental attitude towards children, parents/carers, staff and trainees/volunteers

Experience and qualifications:



A relevant qualification in early childhood education with a minimum of level 3 (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education) is preferred. Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early years education. Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., Ofsted) is desirable. Desirable:




Relevant degree level qualification Early Years Professional Status- Knowledge of the Reggio Emilia Approach, Forest School, and Montessori Early Education, - Knowledge of the Eat Better Start Better program for Under 5's. A track record of providing excellent Early Years education with children at the heart of all you do. Evidence of leading a team at different points in their career, you can demonstrate skills in staff development and supervision.
