About the Role
Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will play a key role in leading the day-to-day operations of the nursery. You'll ensure the smooth running of the setting, support staff development, and maintain exceptional standards of care and education in line with the
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
framework.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the daily management and operations of the nursery
Lead, mentor and motivate the practitioner team, promoting best practice across all areas
Oversee the planning and delivery of an engaging, child-led curriculum
Contribute to staff training, supervision and performance management
Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with children, parents and carers
Ensure a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment for all
Support nursery growth by conducting tours and engaging with prospective families
Maintain full compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and Ofsted standards
About You
You are a confident, organised and enthusiastic leader who is passionate about creating the best possible start for every child. You'll have strong knowledge of EYFS and experience supporting a high-quality early years environment.
Essential Requirements:
Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Early Years Education or Childcare
Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within an early years setting
Excellent understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding, and statutory frameworks
Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
A proactive, child-centred approach with a focus on continuous improvement
Desirable:
Experience supporting Ofsted inspections
Familiarity with nursery management systems and administrative procedures
Experience conducting staff supervisions and performance reviews
