Job Overview:

As the Nursery Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Nursery Manager in the overall management of the nursery. You will ensure the highest standards of care and education are maintained, manage staff, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the nursery. Your role will involve a blend of administrative duties, team leadership, and direct interaction with children and their families.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about childcare, possess strong leadership skills, and have experience in a management role within a nursery environment. As a Deputy Nursery Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being and development of children in our care.

Duties:
- To support the Nursery Manager in managing all aspects of the nursery, including staffing, curriculum development, and safety protocols.
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursery staff, to create a nurturing and stimulating environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and external stakeholders.
- To assist with nursery administration.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and licensing requirements

- To support the Nursery SENCo as part of the SENCo team.

Essential Criteria



A relevant professional qualification, at least a Level 3, At least 3 years of experience working within an Early Years setting. At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or management role. Friendly and flexible approach at work which facilitates the development of effective relationships. Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and relevant legislation. Strong knowledge of Early Years child development. Excellent organisational, communication - written and verbal, and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team. Ability to negotiate and consult at all levels. Ability to work effectively as a team member. Strong knowledge of child protection procedures. Commitment to equal opportunities. A good sense of humour. Willingness to learn and undertake professional development.

Desirable Criteria



To have been an Early Years SENCo and have recent, relevant experience as a SENCo. Experience in working within a setting who have completed the curiosity approach accreditation. Paediatric First Aid and DSL Safeguarding qualifications.
