Job role
To ensure a high standard care and education for all children.
Assist the Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the pre-school, ensuring compliance with regulations and legislation.
Provide leadership and support to staff, fostering a positive team environment.
To maintain high standards of quality practice in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
To ensure that the staff team comply at all times with pre-school policies and procedures, including health and safety, hygiene, inclusion and confidentiality.
To lead the team in the planning and development of an inspiring and creative environment and curriculum.
To ensure children are provided with an inclusive environment where they are encouraged to value and respect different cultures, religion, language and disability and show a commitment to British Values within the setting.
To support the Manager with staff induction, training needs and act as an exemplar of practise for other staff members.
Drive initiatives to enhance the quality of the provision, evaluating performance in the setting and making improvements on a continuous basis.
To communicate effectively with families of the children in our care, monitoring attendance, development milestones and incidents as required
To act as Deputy Safeguarding Lead, supporting the DSL in the safeguarding of children and staff.
Person Specification
Essentials
Have a minimum of Level 3 childcare qualification in Early Years/Childcare.
Have a passion for working with children, pushing forward progress and identifying any need.
Strong leadership qualities with experience of implementing new initiatives in a nursery setting.
Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding legislation, SEND and EAL legislation.
Can inspire, energise, lead and support others.
Holds a right to work in the UK.
