LDD, part of Acteon Group, is a marine and subsea foundation specialist. Using our extensive in-field experience, we design, engineer, build and operate world class pile-installation, lifting equipment and drilling equipment to deliver tubular foundations of any size, in any geology, anywhere.

LDD are currently looking for a Deputy Project Financial Controller to join the team on a 24 month fixed term basis. This is an exciting opportunity in the renewables sector to support delivery of a major offshore windfarm project.

Based in Aberdeen, the successful candidate will work closely with the multi-location LDD project team and take responsibility for financial accounting for the Courseulles project.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Oversight of day to day accounting requirements for the Courseulles Project, providing support to the Project Finance team
  • Support the Project FC in maintaining rolling financial forecast for the project
  • Preparation and review of financial reporting to meet group and project requirements
  • Ensure effective financial controls are adhered to within the project
  • Month End Close: Responsible for accurate and timely month end close for the assigned duties. This includes reporting in line with month end close timelines and management information. Leading role in the month end close process ensuring accurate ledgers and liaising with various teams
  • Balance Sheet Review: Perform regular detailed financial analysis on balance sheet, drive the monthly review timetable, analyse inputs from the business, provide challenge where appropriate and act on any items requiring remedial action
  • Ensuring that contract revenue is recognised in line with FRS 102 and terms of contract
  • Accounts Payable - ensuring all approvals are completed on a timely basis and in line with project cash requirements
  • Liasing with Procurement/ Contracts to ensure payment terms and milestones are understood and properly reflected in cashflow
  • Accounts Receivable - manage the invoicing process to ensure contract requirements are met, and review of customer invoices prior to issuance
  • First review of weekly cash forecast
  • Supporting the Project FC to develop and implement process improvements
  • Provide support as required to meet external audit requirements
  • Finance point of contact for in country tax requirements
  • Monitoring of shadow payroll processing and compliance
  • Support the Project FC in forecast, budget, and year-end processes
Requirements
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent
  • Qualified ACCA/CIMA/CA
  • Ability to work under your own initiative and part as a team is essential
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Be able to communicate effectively with peers and project stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Strong problem-solving skills and be proactive in developing and streamlining processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with well-developed analytical skills
  • Sound experience and knowledge of accounting software - ideally Navision (MS Dynamics NAV)
  • Minimum 3 years in a similar role, preferably from same/similar industry and within a project-driven environment.
  • A strong all-round accounting background
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy with excellent organisational and time management skills
