Application question(s):

Tell me about a time you had to step in and lead the team during a manager's absence. What did you do to keep operations running smoothly? If I walked into your restaurant on a Saturday night, what key things would you be looking at to judge whether the shift is being run well? How do you track and manage labour costs against sales? Give me an example of when you had to adjust staffing on the spot. What's the biggest complaint you've dealt with from a customer, and how did you resolve it while protecting the brand? It's a bad day at work! Imagine a chef calls in sick, a delivery is late, and the tills stop working - all in one day. Walk me through how you would prioritise and manage that shift. How do you motivate and coach underperforming team members without demoralising them? In your view, what makes a restaurant team buy into a brand's culture, and how would you bring that to life in this role?
